Exposing Racist Professors in ULB. The case of Teboh Glotilde.
We need a world where we respect one another in each and every one unique identity.
My name is Teboh Glotilde, a student at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgian by nationality, and Cameroonian by origin.
I have been terribly victimized and subjected to series of horrible forms of discriminations by some professors in ULB. I believe the reason of their horrible attitude towards me is motivated by my skin colour and race which is an illegal factor and unacceptable.
In 2017, I made a complaint against Professor Viviane Vanne for abusively harassing one through emails, and worsened by humiliating me in class and using racist slurs towards me in class. A commission was set to investigate my complaint headed by Prof. Andrea Rea. I presented the case on the 18th April 2017, and because my claims were justified and valid the commission refused passing decision till date which was due 30 days after hearing. Team of racist professors bitter for the fact that I complained against their colleague, collaborated as I am targeted by them and subjected me to series of horrific and terrible treatments and was failed unjustly.
The head of the team of the racist professors was Prof. Dr. Yvon Englert, former rector, who instructed madam Lucy Van Hoven that my thesis must be rejected on the 06/09/2019, defence date and till date there is no reason why my work was rejected apart from the fact that with my skin colour and race, one should not be courageous to complain justly against racist professors. Even after numerous requests to know the reasons why my work has been rejected, I ended up being intimidated and harassed with no proper answers, only revealing the fact that, i have been targeted.
I had a meeting with Prof. Annemie Schaus, the current rector of Université Libre de Brussels on her request on 27/10/2020 and from the meeting she is now the leader of the racist professors in ULB defending them, and brutally aggressively harassing my personality, accusing me to have failed and not wanting to accept my failure because I am not intelligent enough, and pretentiously blaming the professors by falsely accusing them for racism which for her is defamation and I should stop complaining to the minister or at the United Nations or UNESCO. The fact is that, after the intimidation from the current rector, Prof. Annemie Schaus, she failed to give reasons why my thesis was rejected more than a year ago, which I have been requesting to know the why, till date to no avail. She equally failed to tell me why no decision was made on the complaint I made against Professor Viviane Vanne till date since 2017. When I had briefly explained some of the series of horrible treatment I have been subjected to, and requested for sanction against the racist professors, Prof Annemie Schaus said, it is not possible and I believe because of my skin colour and race. However, at the end of the meeting Professor Annemie Schaus the current rector, promised that she will read my work and tell my why it was rejected, she had failed to do so. This indicates, she had only requested to meet with me, to aggressively harass my personality and is guilty of defamation and racist.
To briefly highlight the horrible treatment I have been subjected to as I was targeted for having complained in 2017 against Professor Viviane Vanne, in 2018, Professor Cécile Vanderpelen unjustly failed me for a 15 pages thesis proposal grading the work 04/20. Some of her reasons for this grade was that I quoted Mercy Amba Oduyoye who looks like me and in ULB Mercy Amba Oduyoye is not considered as a scholar, I had mentioned God in research question and in ULB one can’t talk about God. This grade was signed by Professor Monique Weis and Professor Pierre Petit. They further obliged me to follow a seminar course class on how to write a scientific paper. I followed the course which was given by Madam Amandine Mathy and Madam Marie Dejeans, as a rule to pass the seminar course, I wrote a 7 pages article as required, submitted it on due date, and when I requested a feedback, I was sanctioned, banned from attending classes, failed and characterised as aggressive, such that till date there is no feedback on the article of 7 pages. This is all illegal and not acceptable.
As
if it was not enough punishment on me according to these racist professors disciminating against me for having
complained against their colleague Professor Viviane Vanne, Professor
Jean-Philippe Schreiber and Professor Cécile Vanderpelen most doubled the
duration of the traineeship I had to do. When I requested for the duration to
be corrected, Professor Cécile Vanderpelen told me, I am good for nothing, I
cannot succeed for I will spend my time complaining and they refused correcting
the duration. I courageously did the duration imposed. This should be
compensated as it is illeagal for them to have imposed longer duration.
Professor Sylvie Peperstraete and Professor Monique Weis, in another course, decided to unjustly failed me, by changing the rules to me alone, and I was the only student the rule changed, applied only to me as I was the only one with this skin colour and from my race.
I decided to make a complaint to the former rector, Yvone Englert, who took four months plus to reply me, through Professor Alain Leveque with all sorts of intimidation and threats. However, I was forced to meet with Professor Sylvie Peperstraete and Professor Moniques, they admittedly said, the rules somehow had changed for my case. They finally passed with me a grade of 10/20.
Professor Esteban Martinez cannot be left out for unjustly failing me for his course. I went for feedback, he admitted 06/20 he graded is not just unfair but wicked because I had answered 3 out 4 questions very well and the 4th question not well. He refused, to give the correct grade, obliging to retake the course which I did and passed.
After the rejection of my thesis on 06/09/2020, I had requested a college of professors, according to article 70 of the school rules, to be assigned to evaluate my work, since article 89 which stipulates that reasons for rejection should be given to the student, could not be respected. Professor Valérie Piette rejected my request worse intimidating me and till date I am blocked with my thesis.
Having exhausted all internal procedures to know why my work was rejected in vain, went to the jurist service of Fédération des Etudiant.e.s. Francophones (FEF), they told me sorry for everything you’ve gone through and that they must protect the rector and the professors. As such, there’s no sanction that FEF could implement thereby victimizing me more which is illegal.
I went to UNIA, an organisation for equality and against discrimination, they told me, ULB is their financial partner and therefore they cannot support and defend me, and that they are sorry for me, I am their victim, closed my filed and on phone brutally hanged up, telling me never to contact their office.
All these individuals listed are liable and should take up the responsibility of their actions and face the consequences.
We are not supposed to be victims of systems like (UNIA, FEF) put in place to defend and support us, yet they are the very one victimizing us. This is illegal.
There is a complaint at the United Nations Office addressed to Her Excellency Ms. Michel Bachelet, High Commissioner for Human Rights and to UNESCO addressed to Ms. Audrey Azouley.
UNIA
should be sanctioned accordingly and Ms. Estelle Daga of FEF should also be
held accountable for promoting and protecting racist professors and for
victimizing me further. Spread so the whole world know of racist professors in ULB. The manner at which these racist professors in ULB are now trying to defend and protect one another, they can easily assassinate me. Should anything happens to me, they are responsible as I have no intention to harm myself rather than fighting to keep safe from convid-19. They cannot escape lawsuit.
We need a world where we respect one another in their unique identity. Standing up against racism mean standing up for respect. Racism is evil.
Thank you. kindly let me know how you could support for for justice to prevail.
Love and respect.
Glotilde Teboh.
