Racism: Is it a Sensitive Subject or Not?
Racism: Is it a Sensitive Subject or Not?
In this article, the argument is that, racism is not a sensitive subject. Racism is evil. It is horrible, a destiny destroyer. Racism cannot be tolerated or condoned as is not sensitive. People use the word sensitive to hold victims captives, and to get away with horrible actions or attitudes. This paper is a descriptive narrative on what racism is and how it is been perpetrated based on the experienced of the author who has been victimized by professors in the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). This paper encourages people not to shy away when encounter with such horrible attitudes or actions of hate or discrimination motivated by race and skin colour, but to speak up. Racism/hate/discrimination is deeply rooted in our society because people stay quiet, people are compromised, they shy away as the term “sensitive” seems to have normalized racism. Something must be done and the time is now. We need a society and world where we respect one another in his or her own unique identity. Common sense will spell it out that, is not sensitive to hate or to discriminate. It is evil.
In order to defend the argument that racism is not a sensitive issue but rather an evil which humanity must stand up against to get rid of it, a definition of what is racism will be briefly stated. It is our hope that, anyone reading this article, will be encouraged and inspired to stand up against racism and other forms of hate and discrimination fearlessly.
Racism is a form of discrimination or hate or prejudice base on someone race or skin color. Usually such hate or discrimination can be done by an individual against an individual. It can be done by an institution against an individual. It can be done by a community against an individual. When dealing with the subject of ‘racism’, there is always a perpetrator and a victim. The perpetrator considered himself to be superior and the victim is considered inferior from the perpetrator view. The perpetrators main aim is to subjugate, oppress, dominate, control the victim. This is wrong and evil because there is nothing like a superior human and inferior human. A human being is a human being, equal in human rights and in dignity.
According to Cambridge dictionary, “racism is unfair treatment of someone because of that someone race. It can be the belief that some races are better than others. It can be a behavior, policies or rules that lead to a continue disadvantage of someone or some people motivated by race.” Whatever the case, there is no definition to the word racism which indicates that racism is a sensitive subject. Thus it is not normal to shy away from it and to stay quiet as it will worsen the situation. It is time to speak out against racism. In searching for a definition of racism, there are negative words which are used in describing racism. Such negative words include; oppression, hate, discrimination, prejudice, unfair treatment, harmful treatment. This only demonstrates that, racism is not sensitive, it is all negative and evil and cannot be tolerated.
Based on the author experienced as someone who has been victimized, one can say that, there are two schools involve in practicing racism to help us understand how racism is being carried out nowadays. The Conservative Right and the Liberal Left are the two schools. Each endorsing others could be considered here as the perpetrators who considered themselves as superior and have the rights to oppress dominate and control others.it should be noted that these two schools are no respecter of others human beings who are not in their circle. Let’s start by explaining the Conservative Right.
The conservative rights are made of what one could term multi-racial aristocracy individuals, that is minority extreme billionaires to describe it globally, nationally and in community. They are all over the earth. Dispersed on planet earth, and in every colour a human being could take, black, brown, red and white. For them there is no colour as they have classified others, labelled them and put them into various boxes. For them, it is about maintaining others in the boxes they’ve put them. These Conservative Rights, some of them might go to the extent to deny that fact that racism does not exist as in their circle there is every race. In other words, they use every race to carry out their act against others. In fact majority of them think racism doesn’t exit, as according to them, it is difficult to prove it and as they are everywhere, though in minority rich, controlling as such. They are the highest perpetrator of racism. The perpetrators of such racism are done in a systematic institutionalized form globally, and then spread down to local community. To emphasize, what they have done, is labelled people, characterized people and put them into boxes. It should be noted that such racism is not black or white. It goes beyond black and white. So when one try to get out of the box they have labelled one and put one into, they viciously bounce one back into the box. As already mentioned above, they are merciless and friend to no one who isn’t in their circle. Some example of such boxes could be described like, boxes for smart/intelligent people, seen in the way smart people dress and are projected in the society. Another examples in cartoons - the blond joke, you are a blond, a blond can’t be a scientist, like a joke, however, it is real. They labelled you with the kind of job you have to do, the way you should behave and rules are set to keep and maintain people in their various boxes. Pronounced examples globally are the Big Tech, the Big Pharma, Mainstream Media. The reasons they are putting people into boxes is to avoid competition and have monopoly, to separate people and to keep people fighting among themselves. This will help them put come out with policies and regulations to enable them to control and maintain people in their boxes.
Now let’s take a look at the second school which is the Liberal Left in our analysis of what racism is and how it is being practiced. The Liberal Left will take advantage to what the Conservative Right say, “racism does not exist”, thus, the Liberal left will give a narrow definition of what racism is, endorsing the fact, it is too difficult to prove it and it is sensitive to talk about racism thereby victimizing victims instead of eradicating racism. In a mocking manner and to ridicule the victim more, they will even say, they are all people of races where you are complaining and victimized the victim more intentionally. They Liberal Left, promote racism. The Liberal Left affirmatively support actions of racism by stating it is sensitive, do not use the word, the word cannot be used. Thus they promote racism indirectly and directly. It is absolute important for the victim to know where he or she has been victimized and never give up the fight until justice no matter the intimidation and threats. It is our hope that, this explanation describing how racism is being practiced by the Conservative Right and the Liberal Left, help us to understand racism so that, one could stand up against it fearlessly and won’t be caught up in the system.
Racism is real and deep. It is not sensitive. It is evil and society must get rid of it. It is embedded in our society. It is been created to keep people separated, so that the few minority rich could control majority of human beings, taking the power of many people and stop people from becoming who they truly are in their unique identity. It should not be confused by narrowing it to black and white, though black and white racism does exist. Real racism is defining people and putting them into boxes, and anyone could be a victim. Racism is all evil and cannot be tolerated or condoned with. People should be respected for who they are. People should be free to be who they are anywhere in the world without being discriminated or stop because they’ve been labelled and defined. For us to over come racism, we must unite, black white, brown and red or whoever we are. We must be independent thinker and take back our power by getting out of the box. Independent thinkers will do their best to crush the system, they go beyond left or right because they actually know who they are and cannot be controlled, held down or stopped. If we support one another, stand up against racism, respect people for who they are, we shall prevail over the Racist Conservative Right and Racist Liberal Left and we shall overcome.
